What to Bring

  • Swimwear - ensure it's comfortable and well fitting

  • 2 x towels. One to sit on, and one to dry after plunge/shower

  • Flip flops

  • Water bottle

  • Plastic bag for wet belongings

  • Bathrobe (optional)

  • Sauna hat (optional)

We have changing rooms and lockers at our facility that take a token

Sauna Etiquette

We want to deliver an exceptional experience and therefore cleanliness is of utmost importance. With that in mind, we will enforce that towels are used in all saunas, and showers to be taken between transitions to ice tubs to maintain hygiene and cleanliness at all times.

Guidelines to Follow

Shower

Shower first before entering your first sauna or ice bath. This will rinse off any sweat/dirt accumulated throughout the day

Use your towels

Have two towels, one to dry yourself with, and the other to sit on when in the saunas. This is to maintain cleanliness and hygiene

Respect Others

Be kind and courteous to everyone. Be self aware and considerate of other bathers

Personal Space

Not everyone is comfortable with closeness. If a sauna is busy, try another one

Photos/Videos

If you want to take photos/videos and share your experience, feel free to do so, but please be considerate of other users

The Experience

Sauna Experience

Please Speak to a member of staff dependent on what outcome you wish to achieve from your visit.

General Experience

1. Start off with a shower before your first sauna.

2. We recommend three or four rounds of sauna per session.

Remember, it is not a competition - the aim of sauna is to rest, enjoy and relax - not to be in pain/extreme discomfort. Stay in the sauna for just as long as YOU want to, and YOU feel good to.

3. Take some time to cool off between sauna sessions - either in the plunges, with a shower, or some fresh air.

4. STAY HYDRATED: Drink plenty of water during and between sauna sessions.

5. When you are finished, wash yourself in the shower before changing.

Loyly Experience

The temperature in the sauna is controlled by casting water (“Loyly”) on the hot stones.

Loyly creates moisture and affects the temperature, so always ask the others in the space if they are okay with it - specify if you would like to add essential oils!

It is best to pour the water gently on the stones, rather than drop it on.

Also remember, too much water on the stones actually makes the sauna colder in the long run.

Managing hot Temperature

Our sauna temperatures can range from 70-100 degrees Celsius. Ask staff what temperatures our saunas are during your session, as this might vary.

If the sauna feels too hot, move to a lower bench, go outside, ask others if you can open the door or ask staff to keep the door open for you (to cool off the sauna).

*Our infra-red saunas will not get hotter than 70 degrees Celsius.

Stay hydrated - drink plenty of water throughout your session and after.

Wearing a sauna hat can help regulate your body temperature.

Managing cold Temperatures

Cold water is integral to the experience.

Please shower after your first sauna sweat, before your first plunge.

If this is your first time dipping in cold water, our suggestion is to start in the warmer ice bath and progress onto the colder one as you progress in your session.

We will have ice baths of varying temps from 15-10°C, 10-7°C, 3°C.

Enter in one smooth movement. Remember to breathe in through the nose (three seconds) and exhale (six seconds) through the mouth, from your stomach.

Breathe can help regulate your reaction to the cold.

Whisking

Please do not try regulating and changing the temperature of the stoves or infrared saunas. They have been set to the optimal temperature to help aid with relaxation.

If you would like a hotter sauna, ask our staff who will be able to assist.
